‘De Oversteek’ nominated for the Wienerberger Brick Award 2016 (AT) - (January 21, 2016)

The organizers of 2016 Wienerberger Brick Prize have announced the 16 nominees. The “De Oversteek” bridge in the city of Nijmegen is one of them. A record number of over 600 projects, from all over the world, were submitted for the prize. An independent pre-jury consisting of architecture critics and journalists, had the difficult task of narrowing this number down to a total of 50 projects, split into 5 different categories. Subsequently these will be presented to a second international jury who will select the winners of each category and winner of the grand prize. Brick is a traditional building material but through the Biennial Prize Wienerberger wishes to demonstrate that brickwork can also be innovative and inspiring. Nine of the 16 nominated projects were designed by Belgian architects.
